Grow for Greatness
ZGEN produces five kinds of events, each representing a different pillar of Grow for Greatness: growing your world, your opportunities, yourself, your knowledge, and your relationships.
Different alumni need different kinds of growth depending on where they are, which is why the calendar mixes formats rather than repeating one.
Every ZGEN event touches all five pillars to some degree; what differs is the mix. It is closer to a mixing board than a menu — global immersion is heavy on world and relationships and lighter on skills, a skill session is the inverse, but none of them is ever zero.

Global Immersions

Multi-day international treks anchored in a single city, built around access the community could not arrange on its own. Roughly one or two a year, typically four to six days, with organized meals and site visits alongside meaningful unstructured time.
To take people off the beaten track and out of their operating context. The value is not the itinerary; it is that about a week in an unfamiliar business culture changes how people see their own. In-person exposure is what the community actually remembers, and what generates the ideas that seed everything else.
Collider Events

A three-to-four-day working session for twelve to fifteen alumni who are between ventures — actively building, ideating, or looking for co-founders. Structured anti-structure: a kickoff meal, a closing meal, a few outside mentors or an inspirational talk, and a great deal of deliberately unprogrammed space in between. Each one is themed, and the theme follows the location.
A collider serves two missions at once — alumni collide with each other, and simultaneously give back by mentoring a local startup ecosystem that is trying to get itself off the ground.
Personal Growth Immersions

Retreats built around a non-professional dimension of development. Two established formats: the longevity retreat and the outdoors programme.
To meet the community where it actually is. A large share of alumni are at a stage where health, longevity and personal leadership matter as much as the next round. These are also the formats where the network pillar does the most work without being programmed — four days of hiking produces conversations that a structured session cannot.
Skill Sessions

Topical sessions, mostly on Zoom, on a specific capability or domain. Precedents include the AI tools workshop, the founder-led sales session, and the ETA session.
Two jobs. First, to keep alumni current as tools and markets move — cheap, scalable, low-friction, and open to everyone regardless of geography or budget. Second, these are the demand tests for everything larger.
Small group gatherings and meetups

Local, informal, alumni-hosted gatherings. This mode covers off-label activity: ski trips or a Founders Cruise-style sailing trip off Greece.
ZGEN creates the space and communicates that something is happening; the community self-organizes.
